Illustration Friday - Sorry

Took this out of my sketchbook (have been trying to develop a looser style of drawing for kid stuff) and coloured it in PS, but in retrospect I shouldn't have been lazy and got the paint out instead, the flat colour doesn't really go with the sketchy pen work. My son can manage it ok though (think he should be teaching me, not the other way around!) - check out his here.

I often color things in photoshop whenI'm in a hurry, and then go back and do them in the medium I originally intended. It's hard to produce a piece with the quality you want when you want to just post it for IF...it just takes too much time! Nonetheless, I think this is lovely. Your sketch is great, and the colors ahve a soft, painterly feeling.

My eyes are drawn to the gap where the flowers once were... Did she take the flowers to apologize for something else? And will she have to take something else to ask forgiveness from the gardener? It seems like a viscious, never ending cycle!

She reminds me of a DeGrazia. I like this very much! It is definitely a challenge to finish something the way one would prefer in a week. I think it is a smart idea to fill it in this way via computer so you can take your time with your original. Great work!
